GFOI R&D Exchange: Insights on Degradation and Regrowth, from Research to Reporting
This R&D Exchange focused on forest degradation and regrowth monitoring and was held online. During the session, we began with recent research achievements related to assessing degradation and regrowth carbon fluxes, presented by Viola Heinrich (GFZ) and Jingjing Liang (Purdue University). We then transitioned to reporting examples, including a synthesis of the methodologies countries use to monitor these fluxes (by Till Neef, FAO), as well as an example from Guatemala illustrating the methods applied for reporting on forest degradation and regrowth (by Diego Jose Incer-Nuñez and Manuel Custodio).
On this page, you’ll find presentations from the webinar, as well as resources shared throughout. A recording of the session will also be made available soon. We hope these materials support your work and encourage further exchange of knowledge.
