The Global Forest Watch (GFW) is currently updating their Spatial Database of Planted Trees (SPTD V 2.0). This is a widely used dataset, particularly for identifying deforestation alerts which are relevant to investigate, and it has also been used in the EU Regulation on Deforestation-free Products (EUDR) JRC forest extent map (as will the new version). Better data, results in a better output for all users.
 

Within this process, the GFW is currently gathering information on spatial data on planted forests and/or tree crops that are not currently in the latest version of the Spatial Database of Planted Trees (SPDT). Therefore, if you know of datasets currently not part of the SPDT, please indicate them in the following form: https://gfw.global/4ijTAb1 by 15 April 2025.
